Smart assistant support extends to both Alexa and Google Assistant and works effectively, negating the need for a remote, though you can use the Sonos app to control the bar if necessary. If you're only getting parts of the sound, it’s also possible that your TV, set-top box, or disc player is outputting audio that your soundbar can’t use properly. Similar to the problem earlier in this guide where no sound is coming out at all, your soundbar might be receiving a full 5.1 surround sound mix but may only support 2.1 or 2.0. This means you might be missing out on a huge amount of the sound that’s supposed to be in the movie you’re watching. Ensure that your TV and other boxes aren’t outputting in surround sound, again by finding the audio settings menus and ensuring they’re set to either 2.0 or 2.1. My picture and sound are out of sync

Hitachi 55" TV Model LG55G508 needs a soundbar that is compatible. This TV has "no optical cable connection" but it does have HDMI, HDMI ARC. The TV Setting does have CEC and ARC and was able to use CEC only as the ARC choice was not selectable. Tried simple HDMI and HDMI ARC without repeatable success.Generall quite good - the ARC works well and can switch between being a soundbar hub and a tv hub with remote and autoswitch (you dont have to have all usb in TV or all usb in soundbar)

After connections have been made and settings have been adjusted, you may need to adjust the soundbar’s volume to optimize the sound now that it is controlled through the TV. With an HDMI ARC connection, your soundbar’s source will automatically change to TV ARC, then you can use the TV remote’s right direction on the direction pad to activate/deactivate Anynet+, which only works with an HDMI ARC connection. VIZIO TVs are connected to soundbars in the same way as the instructions above, through an optical or HDMI connection. For an optical connection on the VIZIO TV, the port may be called ‘S/PDIF’, and for an HDMI ARC connection, use ‘HDMI 1’, which is the ARC port. Bring your entertainment system to life with the Bestisan Soundbar, which features noise-free sound and boosted bass for an earth-shattering listening experience. This 40 inch speaker is perfect for maximizing your home theater performance by providing flawlessly clean audio quality to your Hitachi TV.Original - This is identical to the original remote. Unlike some retailers which sell cheap replicas, we only sell genuine controls direct from Hitachi. Still, when it comes to diminutive soundbars capable of room-filling sound, you won’t find a better option than the MagniFi Mini AX. Just make sure that it will fit underneath your TV, as although it’s extremely narrow, it’s a little taller than many other soundbars on the market.

If you need help setting up your soundbar to work properly with your TV, read our guide on how to set up a soundbar with your TV My soundbar or subwoofer is quiet or sounds unnatural Many new soundbars aren’t compatible with this cable type – and we’ve seen some newer TVs without it, too. If you're still limited to analogue connections, it might be time for an upgrade. See our best TVs to find a model that's right for you. Digital inputUsing HDMI ARC, you will connect your soundbar’s ‘HDMI OUT’ or ‘HDMI OUT (ARC)’ to the ‘HDMI IN (ARC)’ on your TV. As you can see, controlling your soundbar with your TV remote is a fairly straightforward process. You only need to make the connection to your TV and adjust your settings and sound as necessary. As well as wired connections, many soundbars also support Bluetooth for wirelessly connecting phones and tablets and some also have Wi-Fi, allowing for higher-quality music streaming, potential integration in a multiroom wireless speaker network and support for digital voice assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant. If your TV or soundbar doesn’t have HDMI ARC (you’ll need it on both to use it), the next best option is one of the other digital connections, most commonly digital optical or digital coaxial. Bought this soundbar 3 weeks ago. Not really impressed with this as I would of expected. I would do thought a better clear alter the sound a lot better than it has. Would I buy another, yes but not here I personally would go to a shop a listen and ask the questions before you buy. My fault, I will in future.

Whether you are using an optical or HDMI ARC connection, you should have been provided the correct cable with your soundbar from the soundbar manufacturer. Plug in the cable to your soundbar and your TV. When using an optical cable, there’s a small chance that the Television will know to use the soundbar automatically, but it’s more likely that you’ll have to go find the Televisions speaker selection menu and change it as described above. In addition, you'll need to go into your set-top box’s audio settings to ensure that sound is routed through your soundbar instead of to your TV. Change the settings to the audio connector you have chosen to connect to the soundbar, for instance optical or 3.5mm aux.Less useful these days are analogue connections such as stereo RCA and 3.5mm inputs, and they’re becoming less common on soundbars, too. They’re still worth having for emergency use, but don’t worry too much if your soundbar doesn’t have these.
