About the location
The Spinney is perfect for entertaining. We've had some amazing Easter Egg hunts in the garden, as well as Halloween parties, naming ceremonies, birthday celebrations for friends and family, and we even hosted our wedding here too. There's something quite powerful about the land that makes life that little bit magical. We're fully enclosed by forest and the golf course, so it feels like we're enveloped in a huge green hug!"
The orangery is a fabulous room filled with natural light where we like to relax, read, and listen to music, whilst the kitchen is the heart of the home where we cook and catch up around the island. The dining table has been the scene of many Christmas dinners before we all head into the living room with the centrepiece fireplace. It's so lovely to snuggle by the fire and look out at the evergreen trees. I also really love my bedroom as it's light and airy and I wake up to the views of sky and greenery." Wander through the towering mature trees and meander across the lawns to discover a campfire area and inviting outdoor swing daybed, and it's hard to believe you're actually located on the edge of a popular village near a major city; it feels like you are in a peaceful, rural location.As you step inside, an awe-inspiring glass-fronted hallway welcomes you, setting the tone for the luxurious journey ahead. The ground floor encompasses a cosy living room and an open-plan living space that is tailor-made for entertaining and socialising. This space is an embodiment of perfection, featuring top-of-the-line appliances, sliding doors leading to the rear garden, and seamless access to the dining area, illuminated by a skylight.
But The Spinney is also a place for the best BBQs and parties too, with an abundance of terraces and patios to host family and friends including a bright pink pergola and a massive house-hugging terrace Both Sarah and her handyman Danny were very welcoming and helpful during our stay, recommending places of interest, great places to eat, nearby walks, local knowledge etc etc.It's the most serene of spaces, the most connected to nature, the place to visit to relax with a morning coffee, immerse yourself in a magazine or good book, and enjoy an evening drink with all the doors flung open to be accompanied by birdsong and sweet-scented summer breezes. It's a luxurious dream home but incredibly welcoming and warm, with nature informing the interior design showcasing an abundance of natural materials and tactile textures, plenty of plants and a palette of colours that reflect the tones of the home's most glorious of garden settings.
